The Art Seen is the student art gallery at Williams College. It's independently run by Nick Garlid '25, with a focus on supporting student artists and making their art as accessible as possible to the larger Williams community and beyond.
To appreciate the art, you first have to see it.
WHAT?
WHERE?
The Art Seen is wherever you are (and some places you aren't.) The Art Seen is primarily a digital gallery, meaning that all art is available for viewing and purchase on this website. However, art is also shown around the Williams campus, in the Spencer art building, and in various pop-up shows on Spring Street.
WHEN?
The Art Seen is now open to any members of the Williams community able to pick up their art on the Williams Campus (although shipping is also on the horizon!) The aforementioned pop-ups on Spring Street took place during reunion, from June 6th - June 10th, 2024.
WHY?
The goal is twofold: to make art as accessible as possible, and to support students in their creative endeavors. Luckily, these two goals work together. The Art Seen gives students a place to begin to establish themselves as artists (and make a little money while they’re at it). At the same time, the art is affordable enough to be an option to just about anyone–in a way that original art rarely is. The end result is simple: a world with more art everywhere, accessible to both artists and art lovers.
